30 Day Weight Loss Challenge: What’s the Plan?

The 30 Day Blogging Challenge is coming to this blog. For the whole of September I’ll share a post a day with tips, hints and strategies to help you lose weight.

When it comes to both blogging and weight loss I always have a plan. I’m going to share that with you today, so you know what you can learn throughout the next 30 days and beyond.

Really, I want to pull this blog back to what it was created for. It’s for you and me both. I want to support you on your weight loss journey, while I also take the steps to lose weight myself.

For example, did you know that it will be four years this month since I started my last effort to lose weight? I got to go just over a year after and kept it off all the way up to my second pregnancy. In fact, I kept most of it off during that pregnancy. It’s been since January 2016 that I’ve really struggled.

I’ve not exactly gained weight since giving birth but I have struggled to lose it. I’ve yo-yo’d. Something that I know so many of you have too.

So, over the next 30 days I’m going to shake my butt into gear and focus on the weight loss efforts. I’ve going to pull back the curtain into the daily efforts of losing weight, exercising, making healthy choices, and everything else that comes along the way.

One of the things I’ll show is that this isn’t going to be easy. I really wish there was a miracle cure for weight loss. I wish there was a pill that I could take and be skinny again. Well, not even skinny but happy with my weight—no, make that happy with my size. I actually don’t care what the figures on the scales say…well, I do but that’s not the important part.

Over these next 30 days I’m going to focus on how I look and feel. I’m not going to weight myself until the very end of it. And I’ll weigh myself today to get a starting point.

Instead, I’m going to focus on my clothes and whether they fit the way I want them to. I’m going to focus on my fitness levels and how they improve over the next 30 days.

Because weight loss isn’t just about what the numbers on the scales say. We get so drawn into those numbers that we tend to forget about how we feel. We forget about being happy with ourselves or focusing on what makes us feel good.

So that’s what the next 30 days is going to be about. That’s the plan for the month ahead.

Why don’t you join in? Don’t worry about the figures on the scales so much and focus on how you feel about yourself—how you look and feel in the clothes you’re wearing and your fitness levels.

Sound like a plan? If it does, why don’t you join me here or over at my Facebook page AlexGunn Weight Loss Support. You don’t need to post publicly—I answer the messages that are sent—and if there’s an interest I can even set up a closed group for us all to support each other in full. What do you say? Come along and join in!

  2. I have gained weight and do not like it. I know I need to get moving more and less sitting. I am trying to get my boyfriend to walk with me around the block each evening. Not successful. I am going to try and con one of the teens to walk with me instead if he doesn't. I don't care if people are over or not. I need to do this.

I hope you are able to loose the weight that you want. I know how hard it can be after having a child. Stay positive and do what you need to do. I am sure the pounds will come flying off.

    1. Oh, I remember the first time trying to lose the weight. Once I set a challenge, I tend to meet it...just not always in the time frame I want. I just tend to get a little obsessive with the numbers if I do it by the scale.
