Am I really going to stick to a weight loss plan this time?

Image
t's that time when I start thinking about weight loss again. The plan I had at the start of the year has gone out of the window yet again. It's all the same excuses. But falling off the wagon isn't the worst thing that I can do. The worst thing is not even sticking to blogging about it. We have a tendency with blogs and social media to only show the good side. There's this need to be the perfect versions of ourselves and that means avoiding the bad. Yet, the bad times are when we need most of the support. This is the point when we need to lean on each other. It's just so hard to be honest about failures. We don't want to admit when we've not stuck to the plans we've laid out. Yet one of the reasons for tracking is to see where it all went wrong. This is a chance to look at how moods affect eating choices and what happened to lead to a blowout. It's also a chance to see how we get back on track with things. So, with that in mind, I'm maki...

100 Day Challenge Day 16: Life Loves to Throw Curveballs and Difficult Situations

Image
Friday started off as a great day on the 100 Day Challenge. It was all planned out and was going as expected. Then my husband got home! It’s not that he’s a saboteur when it comes to weight loss. In fact, he’s been one of my biggest supporters but there are times that he doesn’t think before he gets something. Last night it was a packet of crisps (a big one) and a portion of chip shop chips. I’m not really sure which one was worse. Both of them meant that I blew my dailies, weeklies and activity pro points allowances. Completely blew them and ended up in minus figures. But I still stepped onto the scales this morning. I was happy to find that I’d lost half a pound. I’ll definitely take that after last week. I’m guessing the good from the week before caught up to me and helped to balance it out. This week I promise to be good. Very good. It’s a new start for my weekly pro points and I will be getting to the gym tomorrow. That’s a top priority for me this...

100 Day Challenge Day 12: Some Days It Seems Easier to Cheat

Image
There are certain days that it just seems much easier to cheat than admit that you’ve had something. Monday was just like that for me on the 100 Day Challenge. After the stressful Sunday night, I barely touched food on Monday. Like I said yesterday, when I get stressed and worried, I don’t—can’t—eat. It didn’t have anything real to eat until Monday night when my husband got home. My body was paying for it in energy levels, but I just couldn’t stomach food. I'm not saying that that is healthy, but that is the way my body works. I know that after 29 years of being me, but I know that I can go back to a normal diet once my brain stops worrying/stressing. When my husband did get home, he decided that he wanted to order pizza and I really wasn’t in the mood to say no. After the first slice, three others were demolished. After that were sweeties (Haribo) and some potato wedges. It would be so easy to wipe yesterday off. I could start the 100 Day Challenge again from sc...

100 Day Challenge Days 10 and 11: A Very Difficult Weekend

Image
It's time for my update on days 10 and 11 on the 100 Day Challenge. This weekend has not been the easiest for very personal reasons. I’m not going to go into them, but I will admit that tracking started to fall by the wayside on Sunday night. But I got up this morning and made sure everything was tracked to see just how much damage I did. Sometimes life gets in the way, and Sunday night led to a few alcoholic drinks more than normal. When I get stressed I don’t really eat, but I do drink. The good thing was that I’d been good all the way up to that point. We went to Toby Carvery and I opted for the salad rather than the roast. My Weight Watchers eating out guide tells me that it should have been 28 pro points but I just cannot understand how. The roast pork was 11 pro points and the only other thing that I ate that had pro points in it was an egg, so I’ve tracked it at 12 pro points (I only had half the egg because my daughter decided she wanted the other half an...

100 Day Challenge Days 7 and 8: Hectic Days and Staying Organized

Image
I was really hoping to do an extra update yesterday in the 100 Day Challenge, but it didn’t quite work out. In the end, I was very busy with Weight Watchers classes and by the time I got home at 7pm, I just couldn’t face getting back on the computer. But I did track. And I did make sure I planned ahead for yesterday’s busy schedule. So, I’m doing a double update today. Both days I had daily pro points left over. And I really tried to eat them. Wednesday, I was left with 2 pro points and yesterday I was left with 3 pro points. No I can’t use them up today, despite having a hungry day today! Staying in control with hectic schedules It can be really hard to stay in control when out and about. It would have been so easy for me to not bother planning and eat while out. But that would mean high pointed options and feeling rubbish for the rest of the day. I took some fruit and a couple of Weight Watchers bars with me to have while I was on the road. There was then a...

100 Day Challenge Day 6: Slightly Over but Still in Control

Image
I’m updating a day later than expected. Yesterday ended up being a day away from the computer the whole time, but that doesn’t mean I got off track! No, I’m still on track to complete the 100 Day Challenge. Day 6 was Tuesday and I did go slightly over my daily pro points. This is what the weekly pro points is for. I ended the day on 27 out of 26, so I wasn’t even that bad! The extra points came from a packet of crisps my husband opened. I already knew the pro points for them and decided that the extra from my weekly was well worth it. That takes me to 13 weekly pro points left and two days left until the new weeklies come into play. I’m trying to save them for Friday night. The hubby is away and the plan is to tuck into a Chinese takeaway since I don’t feel like cooking just for me. We’ll see if that actually works out, though. I might decide to cook in the end just to save on the pro points. I didn’t earn any activity pro points on Tuesday, unfortunately. I didn’t...
