Is a Low-Carb Diet Good for You?

Image
There are so many diet plans out there. We can follow Weight Watchers, Slimming World, the Atkins Diet, the Paleo Diet and so many more. It’s actually difficult to keep track of them. Some of the diets have one thing in common: they’re low-carb diets. I want to point out that they’re low-carb and not no-carb . This is important because carbs are still an essential part of our diets. We need them. But you could benefit from reducing the amount of carbs you eat. Especially the types of carbs you eat. Me saying that may surprise some people. After all, I advocate on a healthy and balanced diet, but this does support a low-carb diet plan. The key is in the balanced part of the phrase. There’s nothing wrong with eating a carby meal now and then. Hell, I love pasta dishes and bread is a firm favorite in our house. The difference is we also focus on high-protein and high-fiber meals a lot of the time. We’ll look at low-carb meals because they can help and here’s why: ...

Why I Choose the Weight Watchers Diet

There are so many diets out there that it begs the question why I chose to follow the Weight Watchers plan. If you’re thinking about losing weight, you want a plan that you know will work but there are so many other factors involved. The truth is I tried different plans. I’ve done Slimming World and I tried the Atkin’s Diet. Out of all the plans I’ve tried, Weight Watchers is the only one that I’ve found real success with. I then found out my mum had done it in the past and found success, so it was time to give it a try...

There are many diets out there and the Atkin’s Diet is one of them. I tried this for all of two weeks a long time ago and I think it’s about time I write my Atkin’s Diet review and tell you all why I’ve decided against it. Remember that I want people to lose weight and be able to keep it off in the end. I want you to have a diet that is easily integrated into your life and it’s something I don’t think the Atkin’s Diet can offer. What Is the Atkin’s Diet? It’s often referred to as the diet that bans carbs. While it doesn’t completely ban the use of carbohydrates—your body needs them!—it does cut out the bad ones. Those that lead to high blood sugar and spikes in insulin. It focuses on protein and fibre. Honestly, when the Weight Watchers program changed about two years ago, the Atkin’s Diet was what I thought it was going to turn into! Thank goodness it didn’t! The idea behind the diet is that by cutting out the carbohydrates, your body has to get the energy f...
